CMP-20/30, I want to update the firmware.

You can receive the latest update from us to update the firmware by yourself.

The required items to update the firmware are listed blow.

A:  CMP-20/CMP-30

B:  Windows PC

C:  an USB Mini-B Cable

D:  a rewriting tool(CMP_UPLOADER_V161.exe)

E:  Firmware data for a printer (CMPxxxxxxxx.BIN)       Firmware data for WiFi module (M80R......BIN)

UPDATE PROCESS

1. Turn on CMP-20/30 to check the remaining battery level.

NOTE : Power drop while updating may cause troubles.

Self-print to check the existing version of the firmware.

NOTE : For sefl-printing, press and hold both Feed and Power button until the printer starts printing.

2. Unzip the attached file and store the unpacked file in a higher folder.

NOTE : A file stored in a deeper folder may cause errors.

3. Connect between a PC and CMP-20/30 with an USB cable.

NOTE : Check the connecting situation firmly between the USB connector and CMP-20/30.                 Ignore a message from a driver on Windows.

4. Start the updating tool (CMP_UPLOADER_V161.exe).

5. Click FILE_OPEN button on the tool to select the file "CMPxxxxxxxxxx.BIN".

6. Click "F/W1 Download" button on "Main Flash" of CMP-20/30, and click "YES" button on a desplayed message.

NOTE : Do not confuse CMP-20/30 button and Wifi module button.

The printer starts to update while both Power and Error LEDs are lighting or blinking. The updating process completes after both the buzzer sounds and the printer is reset. It takes around 30 seconds.

NOTE : The message from the tool implies the data transmission to a printer is completed.

Even if the updating process is not just completed, turn off a power supply by disconnecting a battery plug. Try the updating process again if the printer works nomally after reconnecting the battery plug.

Note that is there a risk that your printer does not work normally by updating firmware in the flash memory. You should confirm the firmware version by self-printing after the updating process.
